Information Security

Why information systems security matters, information asset protection, the body of knowledge, and the challenges of convergence.

Module 02 · 6 sessions

Personnel Security

Background investigation, employee screening, executive protection, workplace violence and substance abuse, video and alarm assessment.

Module 03 · 7 sessions

Crisis Management

Emergency management, planning, command and control, liaison, business continuity and COOP, terrorism and bomb-incident management.

Module 04 · 8 sessions

Physical Security

Goals and objectives, design principles, CPTED, sensors, video and alarm assessment, lighting, alarm communication and entry control.

Module 05 · 2 sessions

Investigations

Domain tasks and investigation management.

About this course

The CPP Review Course is DIT's self-paced online review for candidates preparing for the ASIS International Certified Protection Professional (CPP) examination. It takes five of the examination domains and breaks each into short sessions you can complete in a sitting, so a domain fits into a working week.

The course is built for people who already work in security and need the profession's body of knowledge laid out in order: security policies and procedures, risk management, physical protection systems, personnel security, crisis management and investigations.

  • Five modules and twenty-seven sessions: Information Security, Personnel Security, Crisis Management, Physical Security and Investigations.
  • Taught by Alexander Acquaye, CPP, who designs and teaches DIT's CPP review programme in Accra.
  • Self-paced and web-based. Study on a phone, tablet or computer; no app is required.
  • Pairs with CPP Review Questions Part 1 for timed practice and with the CPP Flashcards for revision.

This is a DIT preparation course. The CPP credential is awarded solely by ASIS International after its examination; DIT does not award the CPP designation.

Does this course cover all seven CPP domains?
No. It covers five: Information Security, Personnel Security, Crisis Management, Physical Security and Investigations. Security Principles & Practices and Business Principles & Practices are taught on the on-campus programme, and Business Principles is also a module in CPP Review Course +.
Is this the same as the five-day campus course?
It covers the same body of knowledge for the five domains listed, delivered online at your own pace. The campus programme in Accra adds case studies, group work and the two remaining domains; details are on dit.edu.gh.
How long does it take?
Twenty-seven sessions, self-paced. Most candidates complete a module a week alongside work.
Is this the official ASIS CPP examination or study manual?
No. This is a preparation course written and delivered by Dalex Institute of Technology. The Certified Protection Professional® credential is awarded only by ASIS International after you pass its examination. DIT does not award the CPP designation.
How do I access the course after purchase?
